With the constant discussion on how the Internet of Things (IoT) will change the way we interact with devices, we often leave out the conversation on how this will change marketing. We see ads across YouTube videos, down the side of our Facebook feed, and as pop-ups when we visit our favorite sites. But, how will marketing apply to IoT?
Well, for those of you who haven’t heard of IoT yet. IoT is described as “an ecosystem of devices that represent 3.0” in The Drum’s article. Essentially IoT will change the way we interact with household items, products, and devices. It will be the age of interconnection. Your refrigerator will be interactive, chairs will talk to you when you sit down, and all products will be connected to each other. Sounds crazy right?
